We are a community of Secular Order Discalced Carmelites located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and canonically established at Saint Teresa of Avila Church, 1175 Overlook Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238. We exist to provide spiritual support for each other in living out the Teresian charism of contemplative prayer in union with God and in service to the Church, and for the formation of Roman Catholic lay people and diocesan clergy who are called to live a life of Carmelite spirituality in the world and within the context of a community.
Our monthly meetings are held in Avila Hall at the address below. Members are at least 18 years of age and are faithful, practicing Catholics in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church. We offer monthly formation classes for members in each stage of formation, including Aspirancy, Temporary Promise, and Definitive Promise formation, as well as ongoing formation seminars for fully professed members.
Those interested in learning more about the Secular Carmelite vocation and Carmelite spirituality are welcome to attend an informational class at our monthly meetings designed for visitors who wish to explore our way of life and discern possible membership in the Secular Carmelite Order.

Our meetings begin at 1:00 p.m. in Avila Hall with small group formation including a Visitor’s Class for those who would like to know more about the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites and our Cincinnati community.
